In the year 2000 … my first attempts at cycling were when jumping on Dads bike with those bikes with “funny handle bars” (as I thought when I was 11!) disrupting his around Taupo training, and stealing away with it to ride daily around our massive 8km block. Since then I have managed to work my way through the ranks and have made the New Zealand Women’s Road Team.
Welcome to Rushlee's page
2007 saw me travel to America and race the circuit over there with an all New Zealand girl, Monterey (pastures of heaven) based team which had some amazing times and managed to get ourselves some podium time.
After 3 months of ‘Californication’ it was then on another long haul flight to Europe where I lived with 7 other girls in a little French Village and cycled the days away! We travelled and raced around France as the New Zealand women’s team, scoffing down French cuisine and clocking in the racing miles which provided for some valuable learning, a bit of hurting, but loads of fun! Both Europe and America were awesome experiences on my first year senior, and in 2008 I’m looking to step it up and put some of my experiences and knowledge to use again booking myself an around the world plane ticket!
So good luck to everyone, attack those roads be it on foot or by bike, and Love it!
