JANE SCOTT - Fitness Coach

Jane will host a monthly article on this page on everything from motivation to general fitness do's and do-not's...stay tuned, ed.

Hi, I’m Jane Scott. I set up my business, @tone Fitness Efficiency, after having children, a change from my previous career as a phys-ed teacher.

I’m a 43-year-old wife and mum of two young boys, based in Cambridge, New Zealand.

Originally from the UK, I was a university and county rep in athletics, cross-country and hockey. I have a degree in sports science, a teaching certificate as well as various coaching qualifications.

I taught PE for over ten years in England and New Zealand, and have maintained a love of sport and fitness throughout my life.

After having children, I began competing in short triathlons as a way of regaining my fitness, needing a personal challenge. This led me on to discovering multi-sport, biking, off-road running and kayaking.

A highlight for me was learning to paddle grade two ‘white water’ well enough to tackle the Coast to Coast race in a team with my husband Graham in 2005.

As a fitness coach and consultant I work with a range of clients, from women who have taken time out to have children and now want to get out and do something for themselves, to young women who are pursuing a career in sport.

I work with groups and individuals, through goal setting, training schedules and event selection.

My passion is helping women who want to improve their fitness, whether it be entering their first 5km walk or having a crack at something bigger!
