Bike Safety

• Free bike check at any Avanti / Sub Store. Every entrant can take their bike to any Avanti Pro or Plus Cycling Store and receive a free bike set-up, and safety check.

• On the day bike checks. SUB bike mechanics will be on hand before the start for any last minute touch-ups?

• On the course SUB bike mechanics will also be on hand out on the course for anyone with really bad luck out there...!!

Safety on Race Day

• Keep left - ALWAYS keep to the left of the yellow line...!!

• It pays to keep left to let any faster riders pass you too?

• While we are doing our best to keep traffic off the roads, there will be some traffic that will still be on the road. So obey road rules at all times..!!

Riding in Bunches 

• Try to keep at least a bike length between you and the rider in front of you.

• Sometimes it pays to stay either side of the rear wheel of the rider in front of you too? Just an extra bit of room for you to move if they make some sudden moves?

• Don't be afraid to signal or tell someone if you want to move left or right, or to pass someone?

• If you pass an obstacle on the road (like a big pot-hole, or debris), try and warn the other riders behind you his could save some pile-ups of anyone behind!

• Try and keep a consistent pace - rather than surging or suddenly accelerating/decelerating. It's far safer to keep your pace as smooth as you can. One person slamming on the brakes in a bunch, can lead to all sorts of trouble behind them?
