If your bike is maintained ok, you shouldn't have too many problems. But one of the main questions everyone asks themselves when starting out is:
What if I puncture?!!
- So.....it pays to know a WEE bit of bike maintenance - especially how to change a flat tube/tyre. If you carry some tyre levers, a pump and a spare inner tube, it is only going to take a few minutes to sort out a puncture.
- It's a good idea to learn? Through someone that knows, or through your local bike shop? How to repair a flattie?
- It's really pretty simple once you're learnt it, and it'll save that dreaded feeling after you hear your tyre go down.
- It'll also save you a mobile phone call?!?
